Blue sparkling, aqua coloured eyes; shining as brightly asthe twinkling stars on a clear summers night. Hair as golden blonde as the rays of sunshine beatingdown onto the boiling hot sand. She dances, pirouettes, and leaps gracefully along thecold, hard, wooden floor; watching eyes peer inamazement and awe as she finishes the most amazingdance in an easy split. The crowd claps and cheers as she twirls and spins off into the unknown.
Canteen all the way!
Keep the canteen! What has it ever done to you? The canteen helps the school and parents in many ways. The canteen makes money for the school, provides healthy food options, and parents can rely on the canteen so that their children do not go hungry.
The canteen isn't all that bad! Pukekohe Intermediate School is making money from the canteen. This money could be used to buy computers, interactive whiteboards, books, and other resources used to help pupils with their learning.
What if there was no food in your cupboard for school lunches? Parents would have to rely on the school canteen for their childs lunch so that they don't starve to death!
The school canteen can also be used as a treat at the end of the week, or even if you have forgotten your lunch and have a bit of spare change in your pocket.
Many people think that the canteen is unhealthy. This is not true! Intermediate students are old enough to choose a healthy balanced diet from the canteen. They sell fresh fruit, sushi, salad rolls, and healthy drinks too!
If the school canteen goes then most children would have a mental breakdown! And if all of the school does their bit and puts their rubbish in the bin then everyone would be happier!
This is a photo of Shaye, Josie, Leone, Jess, and me at camp!
This is Josie and me at the bridge jump.
This is me and Josie while I was fixing Josie's fringe.....he he he.
This is me and Josie eating the damper we made.
This is Leone, Shaye, Josie, and me in our tent.
My favourite camp moments:
My favourite activities were the water activities (raft-making, bridge jump, kayaking); down at the bottom camp. Even though the water was freezing cold!
One of my favourite moments was Matthew's story-telling of Candyface.
A suggestion for the camp is to probably make the food a bit yummier! Other than that, camp was a fantastic experience to be a part of, and I was glad that I took up the oppurtunity to go!
Roasting marshmallows was really fun and delicious to eat! Archery- I wasn't too good at archery because I kept on missing the target, and I only got it on the board once =)
My explanation topic: The explanation writing topic that I am going to be writing about is 'How plastic is recycled.' The other topic that I am going to be writing about is 'How solar power works.'
Statistics investigation: Our statistics group is made up of Shaye, Leone, Amber, and myself and we did our statistics investigation on how regularly do you buy from the canteen. We surveyed three different classes - rooms 37, 36, 28. The categories were Always, Sometimes, and Never with the questions what do you buy, why do you buy it, and what would you like to see (in terms of food) at the canteen.

Tuesday 12th July Yesterday we had our first Shakespeare performance with rooms 39 and 40 watching. We all thought that we went quite well but we need to improve our skills by not laughing and working on putting our costumes faster.
1.Nowadays anyone can become a dance teacher with very little training which is a real shame for the industry! There are courses through Tertiary providers such as Unitech etc that offer training for dance teachers. However when I was coming through we had to have completed all of our major dance examinations with the syllabus provider (and this is how I do it with my teachers) received our solo diploma and then completed a teachers certificate (showing we knew all the work in every level and could apply teaching techniques that were relevant to each new step and age group. I also went on to the New Zealand School of Dance which is our most recognised (within the industry) tertiary dance school within New Zealand.
2.Benefits are being able to apply experience to how you teach. Having an eye for technique and performance and ways in which to draw the correct techniques from students or help them to understand how and why steps are performed or should be performed in certain ways. Also reduced risk of injury due to anatomical knowledge and correct step execution. You also will be paid more due to your experience and have more control over the direction your classes will grow or develop, whereas an assistant will be directed in their class development.
3.There are many benefits with dance teaching, you can take your skill anywhere in the world and be employable. You can take choreography to companies if it is of the highest standard, you can open your own school if you have the correct qualifications and affliations. Many go on to become examiners or syllabus creators.
Kelso and I made this santa comic on tux painting! :)

Happy
Rays of sunshine
Beating, shining, smiling
Laughing happily everywhere

Magnificent Maddie!
